Reporting to the Regional Head of HR base in Hong Kong, you will be responsible for the complete employment cycle and carrying out appropriate HR initiatives to providing guidance and support to partners, managers and all employees alike, as well as supporting the creation of an environment which enables people to make the best use of their capabilities and realize their potential to the benefit of the firm and themselves. This includes:

 

 

  • Resourcing, talent and career management
  • Implementing talent strategy in line with business objectives
  • Reward strategy and salary review
  • Policy and procedures setting and the practical application of these across the business.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Support the Regional Head of HR to build up best HR practice in their network and play a lead role in the implementation of commercial HR solutions to align with the firm parameters and provide operational input, management and guidance.  You will also liaise directly with the Head of Human Resources based in London when appropriate, and work closely with Office/HR Managers in London, Asia, Continental Europe and Middle East offices.

 

  • Operational support to a mix of fee earning and business services client groups
  • Global projects to streamline operating process of joiners, on-boarding, leavers, alumni, pre-screening in line with global priorities and local needs.
  • HR know-how and documentation: audit/update of policies, templates (global and supporting when local) as appropriate.

 

 

 

 

Relationships management      

                         

  • Develop strong relationship with partners, internal client groups, primarily in Greater China but also in the rest of their network to offer practical HR guidance and advice;
  • Work closely with the HR teams across all offices and Office/HR managers in partnership as a HR leader in supporting the Regional Head of HR, Asia;
  • Engender trust and confidence when building relationship and act as a coach or influence/challenge when appropriate;
  • Share or lead on programme to share knowledge and expertise with the wider HR team and network;
  • Facilitate the development of a highly motivated and competent team of HR professional to establish operation excellence with line management responsibilities for HR adviser for greater China.

 

HR operations and projects      

                         

  • Acting as the Business manager for client groups (business services and practice groups): supporting the provision of a consistently high quality, seamless service. HR operations include talent management, people management, employee relations, annual processes (performance and salary reviews etc.), resourcing approach etc. Providing guidance to the HR Adviser;
  • HR knowhow and documentation: audit and update of policies, templates to ensure on going improvement. Identify areas for improvement and lead on change management;
  • Be responsible and working closely with the HR and L&D teams for the development and maintenance of the firm's standards, in line with global approach and compatible with local practice, market and benchmarking;
  • Proactively propose topics re. training, legal updates etc.;
  • Key actor of the HR team regarding, talent development, engagement, global mobility etc. within the parameters of the firm;
  • Proactively and regularly lead on reviewing processes to ensure efficiency or/and consistency;
  • Lead on creating, maintaining and updating know-how, including guidance, best practice and process; ensuring consistency across our global network;
  • Lead/participate to HR related projects (global, regional) for example global benefits review, process efficiency etc.;
  • Ensure annual global processes (for example budget, performance review etc.) are carried out effectively and in line with the firm's timeline and guidelines;
  • Contribute towards employee engagement, communication and relations agendas as well as to the firm's CSR / D&I initiatives.

  • Able to handle sensitive situations and information confidentially and discreetly;
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually when needed;
  • Excellent organizational skills; planning and prioritization; time management of self and others;
  • Accuracy and a strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent verbal/written English communication skills, Chinese would be a plus.
