Our client is a Hong Kong-based hedge fund adviser who invests in the publicly traded technology, media and telecom sectors, is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to perform back office responsibilities relating to fund accounting and operations. The position requires an individual who is driven and enjoys both accounting and operations.

Requirement

• Manage a small team of fund accounting
• Daily trade affirmations, cash and positions reconciliations
• Trade settlements
• Treasuring tasks; including margin & financing
• Corporate actions monitoring and processing
• Active monitoring of pricing and profit and loss within the PMS
• Daily production of internal shadow NAV
• NAV reconciliations to fund administrators
• Invoice processing and control, partnership building with fund administrator.
• Enhancements to PMS system
• Streamlining of operations controls
• Automation of NAV process and reconciliation
• Automation of routine reporting
• Workflow improvements to tighten operational control
• Mentoring & management of junior team member
• Oversight and review of funds’ annual financial statements
• Review of investor US tax reporting

Requirements

• 7-10 years minimum work experience in Hedge Funds/Asset Management/ Investment banking
• Series accounting experience and familiarity with feeder/master fund structure
• Familiarity with various performance fee structures
• Understand NAV construction & control process
• Fluent command of English; written and spoken
• Strong product knowledge of equities and swaps
• Understanding of hedge fund operations trade flow and operational best practice
• Excellent attention to detail
• Positive and proactive mindset
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Technically savvy and forward thinking
• Excellent written and spoken English, native speaker highly preferred. Mandarin a plus
