Job Description

OVERVIEW: 

As a Project Manager you will lead global cross functional teams from project estimation through delivery, managing all related timelines. This position involves regular communication with senior management on schedule, status, issues, risks and change control. Expert in project management, business analysis, Resource and Organizational Change.   Independently capable of managing all aspects of complex to highly complex information technology project/program (or multiple medium-scale IT projects). Global cross functional teams’ coordination, agile project management and executive presentations skills are essential. 

 

In this role you will be responsible for driving the development schedule from requirement to release, anticipating problems, making appropriate trade-offs to manage risk, and clearly communicating goals, roles, and responsibilities. The right candidate will have a strong program management and system delivery background, a well-rounded technical background and demonstrated experience leading and executing high complexity projects, (with coaching from senior Brand Portfolio and Program Management Office staff). You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. Strategic thinking, maturity, negotiation skills, and the ability to influence are essential to success in this role.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the program / project from estimation, scope, requirements through deployment. For either end-to-end projects or specific areas of a project
  • Lead project teams in the development and implementation of detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports
  • Lead the interfaces between IT projects and services, and business unit leadership to ensure collaboration and coordination between the project development staff, management, infrastructure areas, business partners, vendors and outside consultants
  • Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status in an effective manner
  • Understand the fundamental solution being developed/deployed - its business value, blueprint, how it fits with the overall architecture or business operations, risks, etc.
  • Escalate issues to management which cannot be resolved at the program/project level
  • Ensure resolution of cross segment / team project issues, risks, and/or conflicts
  • Manage critical path and dependencies
  • Proactively eliminate critical path roadblocks to help ensure successful delivery of the solution
  • Take steps to proactively mitigate project risk as defined / required in project plan.
  • Ensure that stakeholders clearly understand what risks will or will not be mitigated
  • Ensure project members effectively manage dependencies and schedule
  • Ensure the stakeholders' expectations are understood and managed
  • Report and manage overall project/release status back to the sponsor and stakeholders
  • Validate that proper deliverable and phase stage containment is occurring where required, e.g., signoffs are scheduled and completed, dependent deliverables are completed, phase plans are completed and agreed to by project technical leads before the phase starts
  • Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members
  • Manage 3rd party vendor relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations globally
  • Complete required analysis and solving of complex problems. May create new solutions, leveraging and, where needed, adapting existing methods and procedures.
  • Regularly lead teaching and coaching sessions as a part of our capability uplift (lunch and learns, peer groupings, 1:1)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 - 10 years related experience leading software development projects within a technical environment
  • 2 - 3 years related experience leading projects in an Agile development environment
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Skilled in related project management tools – Example: MS Project, Jira, Confluence and Clarity
  • Agile Methodology, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
  • PMP certification
