Role & Responsibilities:

• Devise and implement a competitive school counselling program that focuses on and promotes students’ success
• Collaborate and consult with Heads of School, teachers, parents, community organisations and other stakeholders
• Coordinate and schedule individual and group counselling sessions
• Value and respond to the diversity and individual differences of students
• Refer students to other support services and mental health professionals as needed
• Perform assessments, interpret tests and study student records. Complete regular reports on progress
• Listening to students’ concerns regarding social, academic or personal circumstances
• Providing students with support and guidance on how to deal with problems
• Give pastoral and well-being support to all students in school

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Counselling / Educational or Clinical Psychology 
• Proven working experience in school counselling
• Working knowledge of various counselling models, practices and resources
• Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student pool
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Advocacy skills - Being able to recognize the impact of social, political, economic, and cultural factors on human development and help students understand their own lives in context
• Engaging interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
• Sound judgement and emotional intelligence
