Overall purpose:

PFI is a German based company, founded 1956. PFI is a service-oriented company offering laboratory testing on commodities and materials, audit and certification services and a biotechnology service provider. PFI’s two key branches in Asia are in Quanzhou in Mainland China and Hong Kong. 

PFI is looking to recruit a Director, to be based in our Quanzhou company. As one of two directors in the region, the counterpart located in Hong Kong, this is an opportunity for an economically thinking and acting manager with technical background and experience from Europe and/or the US and experience in South-East-Asia. But we are also prepared to give University graduated a chance.

Candidates must have a strong service-oriented mindset and technical and scientifically understanding. The candidate will have strong capabilities to manage the economic and technical aspects of a business as well as strong management skills in a Chinese company. PFI have a unified culture and the Director is expected to support teamwork in a multicultural environment and enact a strong sense of leadership. The candidate should be familiar with Chinese culture or have willingness to become familiar.

Main duties and responsibilities:   

•        All common duties of a director of a company in cooperation with the local co-director.

Education, skills and/or work experience requirements (essential):

•        Master’s degree or Bachelor degree (Master degree preferred) in one or more of the following: Chemistry, Physics or Engineering
•        Fluent in spoken and written English

Education, skills and/or work experience requirements (non-essential):

•        German language skills
•        Chinese (Putonghua) language skills
•        Previous experience working in China 
•        Previous experience working in the textile, shoe or other similar industries
•        Experience with testing laboratory and technology
•        previous experience in auditing and/or certification processes
