Our client, a leading global investment bank, is looking for a strong database professional to join their enterprise database infrastructure team.

The Global Distributed DBA team is a group of dedicated database administrator professionals, working in global offices. We provide firm-wide support for Distributed Databases across the following RDBMS platforms: - Sybase, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, etc.

This role in the DBA team will span many disciplines, including operations/support, consulting (best practice, performance tuning, design best practice), and engineering depending on the candidate's ability and experience.

Skills Required:

• Experience in two or more of the following relational database technologies: Sybase; DB2; Microsoft SQL Server; Oracle; Informix. Experience of alternative database systems will be considered if they have been used in an enterprise context
• A solid understanding of Operating System (Linux/Unix or Windows)
• Good scripting knowledge, particularly ksh or perl (or PowerShell if Windows specialist)
• Good problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
• Excellent communication skills (including strong written and spoken English)
