We are looking for a high calibre candidate to join our data management team in Hong Kong. The role will be responsible for building up best in class data infrastructure, Business Intelligence and Analytics solution; leading an engineering team of highly skilled software, infrastructure, and data professionals to support the data and information needs of various business units and stakeholders.  This involves formulating, communicating, and executing a holistic and forward-looking data strategy that leverages industry best practices around data and technology.  The incumbent will also be worked with cross-functional teams within the organization of different countries.

The Job

• Build the best practices and strategy of the data infrastructure to fulfill data analytic and utilization needs of the business with emerging the latest technologies and capabilities
• Lead, implement and deliver the end to end data pipeline (real-time and batches) from collection, transformation, data modeling to visualization including but not limited to requirement gathering from business units, data mapping, coding and testing
• Manage the data warehouse architecture and optimize the scalability and performance of the business
• Deliver the data lake to enable a flexible and effective platform for data science and analytics teams
• Support data science development
• Productionize data algorithms, build APIs and incorporating into the Product platform
• Collaborate with multiple teams to identify opportunities to manage data and provide solutions for complex data feeds within the organization

The Person

• Degree in Computer Science, Information System, Information Management or related discipline
• At least 6 years of demonstrated industry experience in Data warehouse, ETL, BI, Big data areas and broad exposure to all its sub-disciplines
• Experience on working with large, complex and multiple data sets from various sources
• Expert in data architecture, data modelling and design, data pipeline and data integration
• Strong in SQL, Python/R
• Experience in AWS (EC2, S3, Kinesis/Kafka, Lambda, Glue), Google Cloud or other Public cloud environment is a must
• Experience in leading a small team of data engineers
• Preferably experience of deploying and running ML algorithms in production; knowledge on ML model and algorithm is highly desirable
• Knowledge or hands on experience on using big data components such as Hive, Pig, Spark, Kafka, Presto and MapReduce
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redshift / Redshift Spectrum, NoSQL and in-memory DB is a plus
• Working experience in digital, e-commerce industry, mobile app and web environment is a highly desirable
• BI knowledge and experience (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI) is highly desirable
• Good presentation and communication skills; strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skill
• Flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment and manage your own time and in a high paced work environment and tight timeline
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
