Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer joining a high-paced and fast-growing EdTech startup, we are looking for someone who can quickly adapt and take ownership of tasks at hand. With  exciting growth opportunities ahead, we are looking for a passionate individual who is  optimistic and ready to be a part of an expanding team.

Your responsibilities will include working with the development team to implement new features on both the front end and back end. You should have some experience with React, and  are eager to get more experience while working on a meaningful product with a highly experienced and motivated team.  

Why you're a fit for the role: 

• You have web application development experience on both front and back end
• You are comfortable working in an agile environment and iterating quickly
• You enjoy technical challenges and finding elegant solutions to complex problems 
• You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with and helping others 

What you need: 

• Fluency in at least one modern programming language, JavaScript is highly preferred 
• Experience with at least one major web framework i.e. Django, Rails, Express, etc. 
• Familiar with React 
• Experience using Git and working in a Unix-based environment 

Bonus points for: 

• Understanding of Redux
• Experience with other technologies in our stack (MongoDB, Docker, NodeJS, Feather.js, Redis) 
• Experience or demonstrated passion in education technology
• Provision of any portfolio projects, contributions to open-source projects, or any other examples of your work that you're able to share 

Language requirements: 

• English fluency 
• Conversational Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus
