ABOUT THE ROLE:

Take care of full set of book, periodic reporting, coordinating statutory audit, tax return and compliance for Hong Kong companies

To support business on finance operation and other ad hoc projects

As regional contact point to liaise with US head office to clarify and advise on Company finance policy and accounting treatment

To support other countries on accounting operations on ad hoc basis.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

1.Owner for month end closing. Organize and maintain appropriate accounting books and records. 

• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

2.Manage senior accounting clerk on day to day operation and review her work

• Prepare regular month end financial statements and reports such as accrual aging report, Cash Flow Forecast and prepare Balance Sheet Breakdown.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions 

3.Prepare management accounts, provide requested materials and liaise with auditors in preparation of statutory financial statements

• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. 
• Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.

4.Work with tax consultant to prepare income tax computation and other required compliance reports to government.

• Work with tax department and local tax consultant on tax compliance 

5.To maintain the company finance policy and accounting treatment and to liaise with US head office for clarification when needed.

6.Continuous System or process improvement, this will include defining user requirement, process development and monitoring implementation.

• Understand business process, interface among different systems and their impact to booking 
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Involve in fixed assets management system implementation
• Involve in Oracle upgrade project
• Involve in treasury system implementations

WHO YOU ARE: 

• Degree holder in Accounting with accounting qualification of HKICPA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in statutory & management reporting. Experience with MNC and Big 4 is a plus. 
• Proficient in Oracle 
• Experience with track record in system implementation and process re-engineering 
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirement is preferred 
• Excellent PC skills on financial modeling, MS Excel, Vlookups and pivot tables, Power point 
• Good knowledge of US, HK GAAP 
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English, fluent in spoken Mandarin 
• Be proactive, able to work independently and good interpersonal skills. 
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process 
• Accuracy and attention to detail 
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures 
• Good interpersonal, communication skills & analytical skills 
• Mature, self motivated and able to work under pressure to meet project/reporting deadlines
• Take ownership and accountability of the result and always strive for improvement
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
