Duties

• Develop, synthesize, and characterize advanced polymer materials for components in lithium ion batteries such as surface coatings on active materials particle, gel electrolyte, functional electrolyte additives, binders and current collectors etc.;
  
• Understand the role of polymers, their effect on manufacturability, and performance characteristics of a battery;
  
• Documentation of the process and materials developed by means of IP and standard operation procedure drafting;
  
• Interface with customers on different R&D collaborate projects for technical issue tackling and report preparation; and
  
• Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Master or PhD degree in Materials Science, Polymer Engineering or related field;
  
• Fresh graduate will also be considered;
  
• Expertise in polymer synthesis and polymer processing vs. polymer properties;
  
• Experience with polymer materials for lithium ion batteries is a plus;
  
• Expertise in multiple characterization techniques: SEM, FTIR, DSC/TGA, TMA/DMA;
  
• Attention to details, ability to work well individually and in team settings;
  
• Strong verbal and written communication and solution oriented attitude;
  
• Strong skills in data analysis and experience of statistical analysis software such as Minitab is a plus;
  
• Good multi-task skills and can-do attitude; and
  
• Able to work under pressure.

Salary and Benefits

We offer 5-day work, attractive remuneration package to the successful candidates. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
