Head of Finance, Performing Arts (Ref.: Performing Arts)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, budgeting and forecasting process to ensure the overall financial sustainability of the Performing Arts Division and all the associated Performing Arts venues;
  • Oversee and prepare management reports and analysis by program, by venue, and by division to highlight areas of risks and opportunities for the Performing Arts Division;
  • Act as the business partner in providing financial management advice to the Executive Director Performing Arts and his operational teams to maintain sound and efficient financial controls and operational requirements;
  • Take lead in monitoring and tracking business performance results against budgets/plans;
  • Perform periodic business reviews to ensure that business initiatives are aligned to set objectives while operating costs are within the approved budget parameters and control guidelines;
  • Provide regular management reports and analysis to the Performing Arts Committee on a timely and accurate basis with illuminating and succinct commentaries;
  • Support and ensure that financial accounting and business control processes are in compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements;
  • Develop robust financial modelling and cash flow projection mechanism to facilitate WKCDA’s long term financial projection as related to all the existing and upcoming Performing Arts venues/facilities to maximize returns and reduce risks; and
  • Devise and support the development of ERP systems for reporting requirements and processes for all the Performing Arts venues.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

Applicants should:  
  • Possess a recognized university degree with professional qualifications in Finance, Accounting or relevant discipline;
  • Be a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants or equivalent;
  • Have at least 15 years of relevant experience of which 10 years at senior management level in a large-scale organization;
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and be familiar with the performing arts sector in Hong Kong will be a plus;
  • Possess strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, sound judgment and strong ethics with impeccable integrity;
  • Possess good knowledge in ERP systems, financial modelling, business controls and management reporting;
  • Be a good team player and a good financial advisor;
  • Be able to engage and communicate with multiple stakeholders; and
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
