With the restructuring of the Marketing, Membership and Regulatory Initiatives (MMRI) Team, The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers is hiring capable managers in managing the wide and expanded scope of duties and responsibilities under the team.  The managers are expected to collaborate closely within the team and with other teams, in achieving the team objectives whilst aligning with the Institute’s long-term development.

Job Responsibilities

1)      Marketing & Communications Manager

• To develop and formulate marketing strategies for promoting Certified Banker and ECF programmes in raising awareness and participation
• To oversee the stakeholders’ communications via different channels including weekly enews, bi-monthly journals, annual reports, website, social media, presentation powerpoints, etc.
• To work closely with other MMRI team managers in promoting HKIB Corporate & Individual Membership as well as HKIB events including conferences & awards
• To collaborate with PR consultant in promoting HKIB branding via media relations, annual talent development survey, etc.
• To act as the key liaison with government officials and other professional institutions
• To oversee marketing budget including advertising campaign, promotional materials, collaterals, etc.

2)      Membership Manager

• To develop and formulate strategies in membership recruitment and retention for both Corporate and Individual Members
• To act as the key liaison with Corporate Members’ representatives in enhancing engagement and promoting Institute’s programmes and service offerings
• To work closely with management team in membership recruitment including banks’ senior management, award judges, HKIB programmes’ trainers & examiners, committee members, event sponsors, etc.
• To oversee membership operations in enhancing efficiency including CRM system, annual renewal, feedback management, etc.

3)      Project & Events Managers - Regulatory Initiatives / Institute

         Events (two vacancies)

• To take charge of projects & events hosted by regulator or funded by government including banks directors’ seminars & conference, HKICT FinTech Award, school projects, etc.
• To take charge of organising the key industry awards - Outstanding Financial Management Planners Award and Talent Development Award
• To collaborate with event manager in organising annual conferences including Annual Banking Conference and Cybersecurity Solutions Day
• To collaborate with MMRI Membership Manager in organising membership events including networking cocktails, free topical seminars, sponsored luncheons, etc.
• To plan and execute detailed plans and budget for all projects and events to ensure efficiency and high quality deliverables

Job Requirements

• Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years relevant experiencecovering event & project management/marketing & communications/ membership with at least 3 years’ managerial experience
• Knowledge and exposure in the banking & finance industry would be advantageous
• Strong project management, analytical and problem solving skills
• Familiar with multiple marketing platforms/channels including publications and social media
• Able to work independently and make sensible judgment from a macro perspective
• Able to prioritise, to work flexibly, and to handle multi-tasks with tight deadlines and under pressure
• Proven skills in communication and literacy including proof-reading and presentation skills
• A hands-on and detailed-oriented person with high accuracy
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese typing
