We are looking for a Product Technologist to join Target. This candidate is responsible delivering products with quality and fit that meet Target specifications and standards and comply with Safety and Mandatory standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct factory to pre-screen factory technical capability prior to order confirmation for new vendors.
• Develop and follow up with factories on improvement plans and ensure implementation of proper quality assurance process.
• Investigate the root cause of quality failures.
• Determine and implement corrective action plans.
• Carry out risk assessment to identify product risk/hazard during development stage and ensure product quality approvals before confirming orders.
• Obtain and verify detail materials and production information throughout the production process from suppliers.
• Review Electrical SDA instruction manuals.
• Conduct technical review and approval on Hardgoods product (from Design sample status to shipment sample status)
• Review and make approval on 3rd party lab test reports.
• Participate in weekly meeting with stakeholders to provide updates of on-going issues.
• Live the Target values and culture within the team and across the organization.
• Identify and report safety concerns, demonstrate safe working behaviour and lead by example to establish a safe workplace.
• On time sample approval.
• On time QA report issue.
• Product evaluation / onsite process control.
• Customer complaint / Off show / Recall.
• Operating Costs.
• Leads and delivers the Target vision, strategy and values, everyday.
• 100% of identified safety concerns reported. A safe work environment and behaviour maintained at all times

Job Requirements:

• High Diploma or above in related technical disciplines.
• At least 5 years working experience in either a European accredited testing lab or QA role in a buying office.
• Technical experience in Electrical SDA, Lighting, Electronics.
• Good knowledge of Australia regulations, Australia safety standards and Australia directives for the above mentioned product groups.
• Experience in handling customer complaints, root cause investigations on product failure, and continue improvement plan development will be an advantage
• Experience in quality factory audits, inspection, and/or production supervision will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in EU chemical requirements like Reach and LFGB will be an advantage.
• Strong verbal and written English and local language.
• Strong IT skills especially in the use of MS-Office applications.
