Job Description

The Property Department is responsible for maintenance and management of the Army’s property portfolio of more than 180 properties in Hong Kong, Macau and China.  Its mission is to establish and implement the Army’s strategies, goals, objectives and systems in property mattersso as to provide a safe and comfortable environment for efficient operation of allservice units of the Army.  In addition, the Property Department is also required to offer professional advice to other departments and service units of the Army.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for the inspection of all new, renovation and maintenance works in accordance with the tender specifications, quotations and Building Regulations
  • Liaise with Contractors, Architects and Consultants regarding projects undertaken by the Army
  • Perform day-to-day building management and inspection services, and oversee property maintenance, security and cleaning services
  • Be responsible for the property management of Command Headquarters, Divisional Headquarters, Corps and quarters, and the supervision of the Building Attendants, Office Cleaners and Technicians
  • Forecast short term to long term planned maintenance programmes for up-keeping the building conditions and building services of responsible premises
  • Be the focal point in case of emergency
  • Perform any other legitimate duties assigned by the supervisor or management

  

REQUIREMENTS

  • An understanding of the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Higher Diploma or Degree in Property Management / Building Services / Electrical & Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in construction, property management or related field with at least 2 years in supervisory level
  • Good problem-solving, communication and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Be computer literate in MS Word, Excel and Chinese Word Processing
