Role & Responsibilities:

• Support strategic initiatives by working on implementation initiatives and prototypes
• Work cross-functionally across all business functions to define strategy, scope of software requirements and bring innovative solutions to market
• Work with interdisciplinary engineering and development teams, internal and external; to design, develop, and integrate microservices and APIs to support strategic business initiatives
• Design and developing full stack software, prototypes and/or production systems; for innovation and incubation type initiatives
• Participate in the development of a continuous build architecture with constant iteration
• Develop, prepare and maintain system documentation, including program descriptions and operational procedures
• Participate in all parts of system development, testing, deployment, and support
• Establish and foster an agile development and continuous iteration culture

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of work experience
• Experience developing cloud-native applications and deploying to a cloud environment
• One or more general purpose programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, JS, Java, Scala)
• Native mobile app, progressive web app and SPA Framework experience is a plus (e.g. React, Angular)
• Practical experience developing distributed microservice architectures providing elasticity, redundancy, failover, and intelligent routing
• Hands-on expertise with multiple database technologies (e.g. Postgres, Mongo, Elastic Search) as well as SQL and related query languages
• Understanding of DevOps responsibilities including OS and Container Management
• Practical understanding of security best practices in software development
• Must be creative, intellectually curious, and willing to experiment and work in a dynamic environment, sometimes with little oversight or well-defined requirements
• Good team player / self-starter with the ability to work using own initiative
• Strong planning, time management and organizational skillsAbility to operate and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
