Role & Responsibilities:

• Design and evolve technology strategy based on modern technology approaches and data architectures (e.g. event driven architectures, data democratization, platform approaches to support ML/AI at scale, stream processing, and integrating real time analytics into customer applications)
• Guide delivery programs of work with one or more business applications which will be drivers for the target technology infrastructure and platforms
• Be responsible for engaging with technical and business stakeholders to understand the business needs, prioritize the delivery approach, and guide technical leads in solution delivery
• Be part of key team developing technology roadmaps, including effectively evaluating build/rent/buy decisions
• Influence and coach key stakeholders on modern evolutionary platform architecture principles and practices, and the value of foundational technology approaches
• Develop and communicate measurements of platform progress and business impact
• Own key relationships both up and downstream of the platform teams to ensure delivery

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of work experience of providing infrastructure design and implementation
• Degree in Computer Science, Information System or IT related disciplines
• Strong understanding of relevant technology domains (e.g. public cloud service offerings – IaaS, PaaS, DBaaS, Infrastructure as software, API platform, microservices, modern data architectures)
• Good understanding of distributed computing concepts
• Experience with database, workflow and orchestration frameworks preferred (e.g. SQL, Kafka; NiFi, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Must be creative, intellectually curious, and willing to experiment and work in a dynamic environment, sometimes with little oversight or well-defined requirements
• Strategic and commercially-minded
• Good team player / self-starter with the ability to work using own initiative
• Strong planning, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to operate and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• Does not mind periodic travelling within Greater China
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Cantonese is a plus
