We are seeking a Senior Costs Clerk / Law Costs Draftsman to join our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department.

Applicants should have:

• at least 3 years’ relevant experience in the legal field (either in house in a law firm or for an external supplier of costs drafting services);
• excellent knowledge of court rules and procedures relating to costs;
• the ability to handle taxation of costs with minimal supervision (including preparing bills, lists of objections and taxation bundles and  making submissions before the Taxing Master);
• the ability to provide estimations of costs likely to be recovered/paid at the pre-taxation stage and to comment on sanctioned offers/payments;
• the ability to prepare statements of costs for summary assessment and skeleton bills for security for costs applications;
• good research skills;
• good command of both English and Chinese;
• good computer skills; well versed in MS Word (English and Chinese) and Excel; and
• good inter-personal communication skills
