Job Description

ELEVATE is looking for a senior and experienced professional Legal Counsel to lead the legal function globally; understand the strategies and objectives of the global business effectively communicate the risks and legal issues involved in any decision to management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of legal support and advice to the Group to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Provide professional legal advice in regarding to Corporate and Commercial issues
  • Review, draft and solidify commercial contractual agreements, legal documents and correspondences to ensure the Group’s full legal rights
  • Provide accurate and timely legal counsel to management on a variety of legal topics on labour law, partnership, international ventures, corporate finance and the corporate matters of the Group
  • Provide guidance to management on proposed business strategies and programs for securing compliance and collaborate with the management to devise efficient defence strategies
  • Develop internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance to reduce legal risk; lead the Company Risk Committee to identify, report and mitigate risk faced
  • Keep abreast of all new laws and regulations that may have implications to the Group
  • Communicate and liaise with external parties such as regulators, external counsel, public authority etc. and create relations of trust
  • Handle legal and certain compliance matters and enquiries from both internal and external parties
  • Support overseas company set-up
  • Perform Corporate Secretarial responsibilities when necessary
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc legal matters and assignments from senior management

Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with about 9-12 years of post-qualification experience gained with international law firm, MNC or sizable corporate
  • Well-founded legal expertise in commercial contractual agreements and legal documents drafting and reviewing, commercial dispute resolution or litigation
  • Conduct work with integrity and responsibility
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in communicating to all stakeholders
  • Experience in having M&A deals is a plus but not a must
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
