Job Description
Duties
The appointees will be responsible for incubating and developing novel materials, processes, and technologies for advanced battery. His/her core duties include:
- Design, development, validation and analysis of lithium-ion cell components/materials, assemblies, specifications;
- Selection, characterization, and validation of lithium-ion cell materials and components, (active materials, additives, electrodes, separators, electrolytes, etc.);
- Propose and execute experiments to electrochemistry evaluation of high energy lithium ion batteries in NAMI’s novel cell architecture;
- Conduct literature research to stay current in developments for electrochemical materials and cells and apply relevant research to NAMI’s research and development activities; and
- Analyze and evaluate chemical and electrochemical data to determine direct and interaction effects of the materials under evaluation and execute root-cause analysis of failures and appropriate action incurred over course of development and launch.
Requirements
- PhD or Master in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related areas is required. Fresh graduate will also be considered;
- Expert level of knowledge and preferably hands-on research experience on electrochemical analysis of energy storage device: super capacitor, lithium ion battery, fuel cells etc.;
- Understanding of the electrical/electrochemical measurements (CV, EIS etc);
- Strong analytical skills and deep understanding in electrochemical characteristics of lithium batteries. Knowledge on DoE is a plus;
- Experience with analytical laboratory techniques such as ICP, SEM-EDS, GCMS, DSC, DCM, or FTIR;
- Good troubleshooting skills with Can-Do attitude;
- Strong accountability and responsibility for his/her work;
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; and
- Must be able to work independently, yet able to be a good team player.
Salary and Benefits
We offer 5-day work, attractive remuneration package to the successful candidates. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.
