Responsibilities:

New Business Development

• Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
• Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
• Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization
• Research and build relationships with new clients
• Plan approaches, pitches and tender responses by working with team to develop proposals that responds to the potential client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
• Participate in pricing the solution/service

Business Development Planning

• Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
• Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
• Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop Marsh’s unique selling propositions and differentiators

Management and Research

• Submit progress reports through internal system and ensure data is accurately entered and managed within Marsh’s sales management system
• Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team
• Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
• Understand Marsh’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance Marsh’s performance 

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience in handling insurance placements within a broking environment, or P&C underwriting fields
• Experience of handing negotiation with underwriters for terms and conditions to Marsh’s clients around P&C placements
• Robust understanding of policy wordings, contracts and facilities
• Knowledge of the brokerage industry in Hong Kong and the competitors to Marsh
• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Good presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
