WWF生態導賞培訓校園，是 #habitat2020計劃的一部分。培訓課程為參加者提供（36小時）生態導賞培訓，包括8節理論及實地考察，以及於米埔自然保護區、海下灣海洋生物中心、大埔元洲仔自然環境保護研究中心或其他地點進行的3節實習課。

我們會分別於2020年3月（米埔自然保護區）、5月（海下灣海洋生物中心）及7月（元洲仔自然環境保護研究中心）舉行培訓課程。課程開始前會舉辦簡介會。

計劃目的

此計劃希望集合有志成爲WWF兼職生態導賞員的自然愛好者，18歲以上人士即可參加！另外我們得到李錦記家族基金會的支持，鼓勵更多50歲或以上的人士參加，成爲本會生態導賞員的一份子，揭開人生另一頁。如果你年過50，能說流利廣東話和英語／普通話，同時熱愛大自然，歡迎您立即參加，與他人分享奇妙的大自然！

此課程將為學員提供生態導賞、生物多樣性和保育等多方面的培訓。完成課程並成功通過最終考核的學員，將成爲WWF兼職生態導賞員。

WWF生態導賞員與生態導賞團（生態遊）簡介

個性活躍，喜歡戶外環境和對野生生物感興趣的你正是我們在尋找的對象！一個專業的生態導賞員是一個成功生態導賞團的關鍵。導賞員需要接待訪客，帶領他們觀賞生態，教育本地生物多樣性知識，但同時亦需要確保訪客於愉快和安全的氛圍下投入活動。我們期望生態導賞員應熟習：

1. 導賞與教育 — 充份了解本地自然、生物多樣性和保育的知識；懂得辨識野生動植物的同時，能跟訪客分享相關的資訊與故事；帶領訪客反思及鼓勵實踐保育和可持續生活。
2. 接待 — 以親切友善及專業的態度接待和帶領訪客，照顧他們的安全和需要，基本如洗手間及水站位置，甚至處理突變狀況。
3. 評估 — 鼓勵訪客將導賞團期間所拍攝的自然照片上載於社交媒體或填寫問卷，跟我們分享其評語和意見。

培訓旅程：

第一步：理論及實地考察（訓練時間：24小時）

第二步：實習環節（訓練時間：12小時）

第三步：最終評核（4小時）

學員必須達到以下標準，方可成為WWF合資格兼職生態導賞員：

1.出席80%或以上的培訓課程

2.完成並通過最終評核

3.成功帶領最少一個完整的生態導賞活動，並獲WWF培訓導師評定為合格。

學員如符合出勤標準，可獲得每小時$50交通及培訓津貼。一旦被確認為WWF合資格生態導賞員，即成為熊貓團隊的成員，進行兼職工作。

資格要求：

• 18歲或以上
• 香港永久性居民
• 具有教育、生態、環境科學、地理、生物學或與可持續發展相關的學術背景為佳
• 熱衷於自然與環境保育
• 良好的溝通能力，樂觀、樂於與不同人士接觸
• 能操流利廣東話、英語／普通話，以及其他語言為佳
• 有解說大自然或生態導覽經驗者優先
• 持急救證書者將優先考慮

3.入圍申請人將會收到電子郵件通知，並獲邀參加2020年3月的面試。

WWF has established an eco-guide training campus as part of our #habitat2020 initiative. Operating out of the conservation studies centre at Island house, Tai Po we provide the opportunity for people to sign up to our (36hours)eco-guide training course including 8 theory/ field work sessions and 3 practical sessions at Mai Po Nature reserve, Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre , Island House Conservation Studies Centre or other location. 

The coming training courses will be held in March (Mai Po Nature Reserve), May (Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre) and July (Island House Conservation Studies Centre) 2020. 

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME

The Eco-guide trainee programme aims at recruiting nature lovers who are keen to become WWF part-time Eco-guides, anyone who is aged 18+ is welcome! Especially with support from Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation, WWF also encourages energetic candidates aged 50 or above to train to become part of our Eco-guide team. We’re looking for people aged 50+ who speak Cantonese and English/Mandarin and are passionate about nature. If you fit the bill, be sure to sign up and share the wonders of nature with others!

On completing the training course, which provides professional trainings on eco-guiding, BioBlitz citizen science knowledge and more,suitable trainees who passed the final assessment will be qualified as a fully WWF accredited Eco-guide.

INTRODUCTION OF WWF ECO-GUIDE AND ECO-VISIT

We specialise in small group, guided eco-visits. All our guides are Hong Kong residents who once qualified have a great knowledge of the natural world. WWF Eco-guides educate people about the natural environment, conservation and preservation of natural ecosystems as well as biodiversity, connecting our community with nature. 

We are looking for outgoing individuals who love the outdoors and are passionate about nature, and who can keep people happy and safe, can keep things on time and can spot wildlife species and talk about the natural world we all love. Once qualified our guides will lead two or more eco-visits a month, depending on the weather and seasonal fluctuations. Our guides are able to converse in Cantonese, English and/ or Mandarin. Other language skills are preferred and we promote inclusion and diversity in our teams. 

Main areas of responsibility

To successfully run eco-visits, picking up visitors, taking them on their eco-visit, imparting local biodiversity knowledge, identifying, plants & animals with iNaturalist App, keeping visitors engaged, happy and safe, whilst protecting equipment, taking photographs and writing the tour de-brief. Eco-guides are proficient in:

1. Education and information; we expect all guides to acquire local knowledge of our local nature and biodiversity, be able to use binoculars and other birdscope equipment and impart information and stories whilst spotting wildlife, locating and correctly identifying wildlife, from sight and sounds.Plant identification, specifically wetland, coastal and marine species.
2. Hospitality; introducing and ensuring visitors have access to toilets, water points and then any drinks and food required 
3. Photography;helping visitors take photos of things they see and sharing their comments and feedback on social media and to us.  Time keeping; be able to keep the eco-visits running on time.

• Learn interpretation skills on eco-guiding through practical training
• Enrich your knowledge in local biodiversity and skills in nature based citizen science
• Become WWF part-time Eco-guide to lead WWF eco-visit programmes

Training journey:

STEP 1: Theory and Field Sessions (training time: 24 hours)

STEP 2: Practical Sessions (training time: 12 hours)

STEP 3: Final Assessment (4 hours) 

Trainees who fulfilled all the requirements below would become WWF qualified Eco-guide:

1. 80% attendance in the training course
2. Complete and pass the final assessment
3. Successfully lead at least one complete eco-visit programme with satisfactory performance as judged by WWF trainer(s)

Trainees will be given transport and training allowance of $50 per hour, subject to meeting attendance standards. Once qualified as a certified WWF eco-guide you are ready for part time assignments working as a member of our panda team. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years old or above 
• Hong Kong permanent resident
• Study background in education, ecology, environmental science, geography, biology or any discipline related to sustainability is preferred
• Enthusiastic about nature and environmental conservation
• Good communication skills, pleasant, comfortable approaching the public
• Good command of spoken Cantonese, English/ mandarin and other languages preferred 
• Experience in nature interpreting or eco-guiding is preferred
• First aid certification is an advantage

2. 35 persons in each class

3. Shortlisted applicants will be notified through email and invited to attend an interview in June 2020.

4. Applications would be considered until the training courses are full.
