Our client is a reputable financial institution with a strong presence around the globe. They are now looking for an Application Support Specialist to join their team in Hong Kong.

The Role

• Act as an L1/L2 support of functional and technical support 
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to users, advise users on appropriate action
• Stay current with system information, changes and updates
• Show initiative in reducing support queues
• Diagnose the causes of items reported
• Research questions using available information resources
• Liaise with development teams to resolve software issues
• Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
• Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
• Log all request interactions
• Ensure all relevant processes, documents, checklists and standards are adhered to in order to maximise quality
• Determine key milestones and tasks required to complete these milestones in a timely manner
• Effectively establish task priority and drive tasks to completion
• Identify, analyse and escalate key risks and issues associated with each request in their early stages
• Suggest ways to improve existing processes and/or create additional ones to improve quality and efficiency or reduce risk
• Research, assess and present findings to team and provide assistance to help with adoption
• Providing consultation to development teams
• Make regular contributions to team knowledge base, and support documentation

Your Profile

• University graduate with a technical/engineering discipline
• 3-5 years relevant experience working within the financial services sector is a must
• Good Knowledge on SQL, XML, web services and .NET framework
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
• Ability to work independently under pressure, set priorities and deliver to tight deadlines/milestones
• Ability to work with demanding stakeholders and develop strong working relationships
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into operational processes
