Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • To improve and ensure data quality (including both internally developed and externally supplied data); and protect the company against the risk of loss from internal processes, people and systems or from external events impacting data by defining data quality policy and relevant standards, procedures and guidelines

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set out data quality policy and relevant standards and guidelines
  • Work with Business, Compliance, IT, Operations and Risk Management areas to define data quality requirements including define critical data element in key processes / data aggregation, data quality metrics / business rules, and monitoring mechanism
  • Deploy processes for continuous measurement and monitoring of data quality
  • Manage data quality issues including escalation, clean and correct data quality defects
  • Design and implement operational data quality management procedures
  • Cooperate with Information Security in defining processes and procedures to safeguard data against operational risk events
  • Lead regular review of data quality controls, systems and policy
  • Develop and promote data quality awareness

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or related disciplines
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in financial institution with at least 10 years in IT and 5 years or above in managerial role
  • Experience in data quality management role in financial institution
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large volumes of data
  • Fact driven and analytically-minded with excellent attention to details
  • Resourceful, creative and proactive in continuous improvement and advancement
  • Self-motivated, reliable and committed with abilities and desire to deliver and seek continuous improvement
  • Strong communication (Cantonese and English, with Putonghua an advantage), collaboration and influencing skills
  • Good team player striving for team success and win-win results
  • Less experience will be considered as Manager
