Job Description

Carry out and manage the global sourcing strategy for the company.  Support the development of and implementing SOP’s, and corporate sourcing standards for the company. Manages and develops the supply base for the product families assigned and provides input into key decisions on where business should be placed, based on best cost price to drive margin. Implements supplier consolidation whilst finding and maximizing supply base opportunities to grow margin for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sourcing Director to deliver the sourcing strategy and objectives.
  • Oversees the existing supply base and validate new sources by carry out cross costing to ensure product, quality and margin compatibility.
  • Responsible for the annual negotiation of the top volume articles within the company.
  • Provides analysis and reports on supplier performance.
  • Implement initial business levels, target business levels, and set maximum growth targets with suppliers.  
  • Develop and manage new supplier relationships, face to face, to ensure smooth on-boarding including initial business levels, set up process (shipping, packaging, product approval, quality) to drive smooth approvals and on-time shipments.
  • Work with the CSR Dept. to support CSR audits and CAPs and review with suppliers.
  • Feed into the supplier scoring for annual strategic meetings with the GM’s. Support subsequent decisions and hold relevant supplier discussions on performance rating and actions, including poor performance management.
  • Support the Sourcing Director to develop and build the annual/seasonal sourcing strategy for the GM meetings. Plus gather information and market intelligence for feedback to teams on any in season global impacts and shifts etc.
  • Reduce cost prices to drive growth of margin for the company
  • Consolidated supply base that is optimized to deliver cost price improvement
  • Clear and concise supplier performance reporting
  • Standards implemented and processes in place

Requirements:

  • College degree in Technical Fashion Design or similar
  • 10 years of garment, fabric, or related items sourcing experience, 2 years of leadership/people management experience.
  • Critical thinking and exercise swift problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to details and follow through in execution
  • Strong team player who can also work independently and in fast paced environment
  • Fluent in spoken and written business English (especially in manufacturing and technical terms)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Preferably experience of product development (PDM/PLM) systems
  • Knowledge of Responsible Sourcing, sustainability innovation and QA standards and process is preferred
  • Fluent in English, and another Asian language preferable.
