Job Description:

As a Business Manager, you are responsible for securing and retaining key client accounts through professional, consultative sales activities. You will be a proactive, strategically minded business manager, with a proven track record of successfully securing new business and meeting revenue targets. You will develop and foster trusted client relationships and build an in-depth knowledge of key client accounts to enable you to offer proactive proposals to meet client needs. Working closely with other members of the agency team, you will develop and deliver high quality multi-channel solutions that exceed client expectations.

 

Responsibilities:

As Business Manager, you are responsible for the overall account management and business development.

  • Understand the pharmaceutical industry in order to recommend integrated marketing and communications solutions to meet client needs
  • Strategize in partnership with clients on how best to utilize multi-channel and media to communicate to their desired audience
  • Develop and prepare marketing proposals and presentations based on client needs and objectives
  • Instigate and lead business development activities for assigned accounts to achieve individual and agency revenue targets
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and initiatives to support strategic account planning and ensure proposals are innovative and relevant 
  • Work with colleagues to explore additional business opportunities and strategize on new products and services to be offered to the industry
  • Liaise closely with the internal teams to ensure good project follow-up and service to the client

 

Required skills/backgrounds:

  • At least 3 years of key account management experience ideally in a medical communications agency, pharmaceutical or equivalent environment
  • A particular strength in business development and sales is preferred
  • Experience managing a matrix structure to achieve results
  • Strategically minded with the ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities
  • Ability to work with others to develop winning multi-channel communications proposals
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Strong scientific curiosity with a university degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in a scientific subject preferred
  • Highly enthusiastic, flexible, adaptable, curious, with a cooperative spirit, and demanding of high work quality
