Responsibilities:

• Planning and preparing lessons in relation to individual pupils' needs and examination syllabuses
• Acquiring appropriate teaching materials/resources
• Teaching music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils
• Motivating pupils and encouraging progress
• Liaising with academic staff and/or parents
• Ensuring up-to-date knowledge and awareness of examination requirements
• Assessing pupils abilities, providing feedback and writing reports
• Monitoring and guiding pupils’ practice

Requirement:

• Proven experience of performing at a high level
• Ideally you will have studied singing at degree level or equivalent
• A high level of all-round musicianship, musical knowledge and vocal technique
• Creative, flexible, diligent, cheerful and enthusiastic
• Skilful in communication with parents and colleagues
• Previous experience of working in a school would be considered an advantage
• Being a native English speaker or near native will be a strong advantage. Written English is important for the reports at the end of term
