ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role drives the continuous improvement of Gap International Sourcing (GIS) quality initiatives at the factory level through collaboration with PQA teams, Product Integrity, Technical Design and IT departments to review and set up standards, guidelines & training materials for new and current process monitoring and capability evaluations for all regions. He/she provides best practices and training to GIS employees in all regions. He/she works with a clear objective to improve product quality, production flow and factory management through Technical Evaluation/Corrective Action Plan, Best Practices, reviewing Distribution Centre Audits, In-Market reports and employee/factory feedback.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Review the Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action Plan to ensure consistency in ratings across all regions.
  • Educate, compile and share Best Practices for all process and categories across all regions.
  • Provide advice on improvements for monthly country quality metrics. Prepare and collaborate with PQA Leaders, IT & HR on organizing training materials for internal training & external vendor seminars.
  • Explore & develop new training tools and training materials for both Gap employees & external vendors/factories. Manage and lead the Knowledge Runway program to ensure quality training is provided to internal field quality associates and 3rd party inspection firms. 
  • Work with the Technical Design team to align on product complexity levels.
  • Automation: Study, develop, research and explore automation in the production process.

 

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • Degree qualified in Textile or Apparel (Industry related) or equivalent work experience. 10-12 years in a Quality Management / Supplier Development role in the related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes within the apparel industry. Solid industry knowledge including market trends for new vendor sourcing and development.
  • Ability to create reports, provide analysis and recommendations to improve quality.
  • Strong communication skills– both written and verbal in English.
  • Ability to influence all levels of factory management.
  • Leadership skills. Strong risk management and trouble shooting skills; works proactively.
  • Knowledge in Lean Principles is a plus. Senior level Factory Operations experience; or factory & buying office experience preferred
