Job Description

Summary

As People Team Manager, you lead, coach and inspire people towards being the best of themselves.  Your team understands and promotes the culture, organization, leadership and inclusive environment necessary for all people to take pride in their work.  Your team partners with Gearing University to focus on talent development foundation and systems, and reshape organizational structure and roles according to corporate directives.  In addition, your team handles a full range of people governance and administrative functions to ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and corporate policies.  In-depth knowledge and experience of ISO9001:2015 methodologies and lean waste are highly appreciated.

Talent Development

Talent development programs enable us to deliver better and better customer service and experience.  Your team will partner with Gearing University and business leaders to create, implement and manage in-house continual development initiatives and practical training programs which help educate and reinforce our culture.  Your team is also responsible for succession planning.

  • Partner with Gearing University and leadership to design and deliver appropriate talent planning activities that will identify talent, leadership development priorities, and succession plans
  • Develop learning and development plans to enhance staff capabilities
  • Focus efforts on personal development needs, and promote a learning environment which supports on-the-job opportunities within teams and internally across the company
  • Handle training administrative functions such as course enrollment, training record maintenance, administration and logistics
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning and people development programs
  • Monitor staff CPT / CPD records to ensure in compliance with policy requirements


People Governance & Administration

Your team handles a full range of people governance and administrative functions, including assistance in the review of organizational structure, roles, people policies, processes and procedures, to ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, corporate directives and corporate policies.  Provides advice and counsel to managers and employees on all people related issues, including identifying key talent, succession planning, recognition, attendance/performance issues, and terminations.

  • Review organizational structure, roles, people policies, processes and procedures
  • Manages compensation and benefits programs, such as annual salary planning process, salary surveys and analysis, benefit programs and employee services
  • Actively engage with business leaders on people strategy through workforce planning and organization design and structure
  • Conduct gap analysis on regulatory update and coordinate respective measures
  • Consult and advise on all aspects of employee-related issues, including manager/employee issues, policies & procedures, misconduct, investigations, terminations, review of appealed terminations, reorganizations etc.
  • Executes all people-related rules and procedures
  • Handle people related operational risk and audit finding
  • Handle regulatory reporting, staff licensing registration and related issue
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of people policies and procedures


Requirements

  • Higher Diploma or above in Human Resources Management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years of Talent Development and People Governance experience in engineering and manufacturing entities
  • Minimum 3 years of working in people management in manufacturing industries in China
  • Well versed with China and Hong Kong employment-related laws and labour practices in manufacturing industry
  • Ability to lead, coach and inspire people towards being the best of themselves
  • Fosters trust and relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Strong ability to plan in details and execute projects
  • Succinct and precise communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written)
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in teams, as both a lead and a supporting team member
  • Proficiency in using MS Office
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); fluency in English is a plus
  • Lesser qualifications and experience will be considered as assistant manager or supervisor
  • Work in Huizhou and Hong Kong
