We are looking for a Quantitative Analyst in our Hong Kong office, starting in Spring 2020 to assist in the development of an innovative quantitative and algorithmic-based investment product. The candidate shall have a curious, open and flexible mind, willing to develop a new performing and commercially viable investment product and to demonstrate a strong level of responsibility. They must be keen to analyze financial datasets and instruments with statistical and machine learning tools in combination with human insights to help answer significant investment problems. Main assignments and deliverables shall include:

The Quantitative Analyst will work closely with the product development team in order to build an investment product for existing and new clients. Responsibilities shall include determining the impact of various variables and datasets on the investment model, develop and improve the existing quantitative models, identify investment opportunities, develop automated solutions, research and analyse potential new initiatives, and follow-up in the context of other related new product development initiatives.

Deliverables:

  • Continue the development and improve the existing models with new ideas.
  • Perform programming of mathematic algorithms.
  • Contribute actively in the research of new investment-related projects.
  • Assist in producing a white paper of the product and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build user-centric interfaces for various internal products.
  • Provide various support to the team on other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Academic: Completed undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or computer science / engineering with good understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  • Work experience: At least 2 years of prior work experiences in financial engineering or data science role is required.
  • Personal skills: Analytical, entrepreneurial, autonomous, self-starter, capable of sourcing and executing projects independently. Good team player with strong communications skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver management presentations and public speaking. Open to criticism, altruist and strong ethics are essential traits.
  • IT skills:  Strong knowledge of programming in Python, AI/machine learning techniques and libraries (Keras, Tensorflow, …), and database skills (MongoDB, Cosmos DB) is a must. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Languages: Full working proficiency in English (reading, writing and speaking). Any additional language is a plus.
  • Conditions: The candidate should have the right to work in Hong Kong.
