GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT

GENERAL :

The General Ledger Accountant is to maintain the data integrity, accuracy and completeness of the company’s accounts, to perform periodic review, checking and reconciliation of accounts and related accounts analyses, to assist in period and year end financial closing and reporting, to prepare info and schedules required for financial and management reporting, external reporting, audit and tax requirements, to assist in budgetary control and variance analysis and ad hoc assignments and projects.

RESPONSIBILITY :

• To maintain the general ledger by ensuring the integrity, accuracy and completeness of data, including the reconciliation and analysis of G/L accounts, review of trial balance.
• To reconcile the bank clearing account and follow up on uncleared items. These include analysis and reconciliation of the checks paid and received accounts.
• To maintain the fixed assets register, including periodic updates of the addition and disposal of fixed assets, and performing depreciation run for each accounting period.
• To analyse and reconcile the stock suspense accounts, with download of the accounts movements periodically from the accounting system to prepare analysis. Also to guide AP in matching open items and investigate unmatchable items by checking with Material Management, Logistics and suppliers for reasons of discrepancies and appropriate solution.
• To analyse and reconcile intercompany accounts in liaison with other group companies.
• To reconcile the credit card statement to the G/L and prepare credit card expense analysis.
• To prepare period-end journals, including accruals, provisions, prepayments and adjustments.
• To assist Finance Manager in the preparation of the periodical financial closing and the periodical reports and analyses.
• To provide variance analysis of actual and budget info and assist in budgetary control.
• To assist in the year end financial closing and prepare audit files, annual stock-take and audit requirements and tax reporting
• To support accounting and financial process improvements by participating in accounting projects and review of financial systems and financial procedures.
• To support Finance Manager in ad hoc assignments and tasks.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT :

• Degree or Diploma holder in Accounting Studies.
• At least 3 years' accounting experience in General Ledger accounting and reporting.
• Good understanding of systems processing flows of various transactions cycles (sales, purchases, goods receiving and dispatch, inventory).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office.
• With “Can-do“ attitude and willingness and ability to work under pressure.
• Immediately available preferred.
