Cloud Architect, Global Financial Services

Job Description

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring highly technical cloud computing architects within our Global Financial Services professional services practice, to help our partners develop technical expertise and capacity, while also collaborating with our customers and partners on key engagements. Our consultants will deliver proof-of-concept projects, topical workshops, and lead implementation projects. These professional services engagements will focus on key customer solutions such as, web applications, enterprise applications, HPC, batch processing and big data, archiving and disaster recovery, education and government.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

• Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services in banking, insurance, payments, capital markets and other FSI-related fields

• Delivery - Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services. This will be done via onsite customer projects.

• Insights - Work with AWS engineering, support and business teams to convey partner and customer feedback as input to AWS technology roadmaps.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT implementation experience
• Recent experience delivering IT implementations in FSI
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• Customer-facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding tradeoffs, best practice, project management and risk mitigation
• Implementation experience with primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3).
• Leading deployment of highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software.
• Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Node.js, Powershell).
• Configuration management using e.g. CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible.

Extended travel to customer locations throughout Asia may be required to deliver professional services onsite as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Experience and Certifications are preferred.
• Successful track record in delivery of technical consulting engagements in FSI companies
• Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
• Experience in data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications.
• Hands-on experience leading the development and deployment of business software at scale or current hands on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
• Proven experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
• Integration of AWS cloud services with on-premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, core banking, FIS, Guidewire etc.
• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, NIST, MAS, HKMA, J-FSA etc.)
