Job Duties and Responsibilities

l   Analyse the risks and evaluate the exposure, adequacy of premium, terms and conditions of each risk accepted.

l   Ensure that all acceptances are protected by proper reinsurance arrangement

l   Obtain necessary underwriting information required to place the risk in the international /regional/local reinsurance market.

l   Coordinate with reinsurance brokers for placement of each and every declaration in appropriate arrangement

l   Place reinsurance directly to the market or through the broker whether on facultative or any other basis depending on the need of situation.

l   Assist in administration of the Company outward reinsurance program.

l   Follow up with broker/ceding company for timely submission of closing and accounting documents

l   Review reinsurance closings for basic insurance coverage, terms and conditions, gross and net premiums commissions etc. and correspond / discuss with ceding companies as and when necessary.

l   Prepare and ensure the accuracy of reinsurance slips / contracts

l   Prepare reinsurance underwriting and claims statistics including outstanding claims and reinsurance recoveries

l   Calculate reinsurance premium, profit commission and other reinsurance deductions and able to prepare relevant documentation.

Requirements

l   Insurance qualification, ANZIIF or ACII, preferably University Graduate in Risk and Insurance Management or any related field

l   3 to 5 years relevant working experience for the reinsurance department of a General Insurance Company / Property & Casualty Reinsurance Company.

l   Have a good knowledge of General Insurance company and the relative reinsurance protection.

l   Knowledge of dealing with International Reinsurance markets and Brokers

l   Knowledge of Reinsurance Treaty, Facultative wording and Reinsurance Slips preparation
