Mission

We are looking for the assistant buyers for the Groceries / Daily Products section to engage in all phases of merchandising and execute sales and marketing activities. The role requires one to procure the best products at optimal prices and meet sales target through carefully planning and strategic execution.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute regular product sourcing activities; ensure quality of products and on-time delivery to maintain suitable stock levels
• Coordinate and liaise with suppliers on product sourcing, trading terms and contract development; build a network of suppliers and maintain long-term vendor relationships
• Analyse market trends and competitor activities to forecast upcoming product demands and potential sales volumes
• Develop categorical selection of products and enhance sales by identifying and sampling new products
• Set seasonal OTB budget, formulate assortment and allocation plan, conduct inventory management and analysis, and set prices for products
• Analyse sales and consolidate information of a variety of reports and plans (e.g. buying plan, delivery  scheduling, stock clearance plan)
• Monitor sell through, stock level, product efficiency, merchandise distribution, replenishment & consolidation on a timely basis
• Handle merchandising related issues to ensure a timely management for all orders and deliveries
• Lead team members (i.e. assistant buyers) and providing guidance
• Collaborate with marketing team and operation department and participate in major corporate sales, promotion events, visual merchandising and other ad-hoc projects

Requirements

• Form 6 or above education level
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably on the food or grocery section in supermarket industry
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Strong desire to take initiative and able to work independently under pressure
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and negotiating abilities
• Good command of English and Chinese
• Proficient in MS Office and Chinese Word Processing
• Availability to work during weekends and holidays when needed
