Head of Department - Electrical Appliances

A fast growing European buying office established in Hong Kong is currently looking to hire a new Head of Department. This is a newly created role to cope with expansion and will manage a portfolio of brands that the group cover. Strong experience managing large appliances is requested.

The aim of this role is to develop the export business from China for their brands in Europe covering large appliances, health care, personal care and SDA. Reporting directly to the Managing Director in HQ, you will be responsible for:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for team sourcing and procurement
• Propose and anticipate the new sourcing areas and production zones
• Work closely with R&D
• Evaluate the potential manufacturers for new development
• Concept, planning, design and execution of stages of new products
• Enhance cost effectiveness through pricing and pricing negotiations

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree qualified in a relevant field, procurement, supply chain management, operations or more
• Must have strong exposure with export business for minimum 15 years'
• Excellent communication, market analyzing, sourcing and negotiation
• High commercial sense to realise market needs and trends
• Willing to travel regularly to factories in China
• Fluent in English, Cantonese & Mandarin
• German or French would be a plus
