Responsibilities:

• Familiar with all Lands’ End garment washing requirements, expectations and inspection procedures and enforce those standards as related to Lands’ End stock fabrics
• Establish garment wash strategy to support brand requirements across quality, speed, cost, and sustainability
• Monitor garment wash quality performance by supplier
• Works closely with garment vendors to ensure timely and accurate bulk wash submissions to the HKO.
• Oversees the resolution of production and operational problems related to garment wash quality in the production and to ensure critical path garment delivery dates are met.
• Communicates non conformities to the Director raw materials for review and feedback.
• Trains mills, and vendors in the correct submission procedures, minimum wash performance standards, RSL requirements, and legislative requirements.
• Supports the efforts of establishing garment vendor evaluation standards, process and CAP follow-up.
• Provides Technical Support and risk assessment to cross functional teams related to garment washing quality, and related process/techniques.
• Provides problem solving support, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to improve vendor performance.
• Monitor garment washing /laundry  matrix.  Update and report quarterly.  
• Track top garment washes by company and division. Update quarterly.
• Develop washes that meets brand quality, aesthetic and target price while hitting seasonal deadlines
• Resolve bulk garment washing related quality issues with vendors
• Develop garment vendor washing technical capabilities
• Matching buyer washing, laundry, dry & wet processes standards.
• Solving all fabric and garment’s wash related issues.
• Planning washing capacity and managing production.
• Keeping all the washing unit well up to date with Lands’ End requirements
• On time delivery and managing short notice requests.

Education and Experience:

• 4-Year College Degree Preferred
• Management experience preferred
• Over 10 years of experience in the garment industry with over 10 year’s expertise in wet and dry processing. Ideally having worked in a wet/dry processing laundry
• Applicants with any relevant professional degree/ or courses, in textile washing, finishing or dyeing will be preferred.
• Technical expert with excellent understanding of Enzymes, Resins, relevant washing chemicals.
• Good understanding of fabric and dyes.
• Good performer in tough situations.
• Very detail oriented and ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Current technical knowledge in area of wash specialization as it relates to washing techniques, dyeing, printing, finishing, and washing techniques including mill capabilities and limitations
• Computer literate in Microsoft office programs and WEB PLM
• Knowledge of wash research avenues
