Roles and Responsibilities

• Work Seasonal review & Evaluation of development Tech packages.

• Work with SMM on seasonal allocation and capacity strategy.

• Collaborate with LE Asia Merchandising and QC on identifying and evaluating existing and new factories and developing/training current & new vendors.  

• Identify cost saving options/ opportunities through fabric, garment construction, vendor/mill or country alternatives to meet IMU and speed-to-market goal while keeping design intent and brand integrity.   

• Work with SMM and vendors in preparing costing quotations and samples pre buying season.

• Drive product development and price negotiation and product presentation, order management during LE buying trips.

• Prepare all delivery data  to include all approval data pre-production of color and samples materials , all sample requests ( counter, fitphoto, pre-production, etc)

• Provide regular delivery tracking status, production status, any style changes, etc to QA dept.

• System updates and merchandising information as it relates to cost sheets, files, documents. Keep updated records of all samples/approvals/testing and inspection reports.

• Prepare and issue supplier contracts in a timely manner to ensure deliveries are secured.

• Evaluation of counter sourcing, proto samples, new supplier samples to evaluate if price/aesthetic are workable as viable option for LE.

• Partner with QA on inspection planning to ensure on-time inspections are carried out and all relevant testing information is available.

• Partner with MM and QA in ensuring vendor compliance in relation to all customs regulations and consumer standards.

• Provide regular updates and feedback to supervisor & Merchandising team on progress of any projects or initiatives.

• Support Ad Hoc assignments and initiatives as required.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge Requirements

• Minimum 3-4 years working experience as Merchandiser, preferably in US buying office

• Good command in both written and verbal English & Mandarin

• Strong sourcing experience in China region

• Good vendor management and solid network contact with “A” class vendors

• Work independently, responsible and supervisory skills

• Good computer skills in word, Excel and Powerpoint
