Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated sales or account development (AD) professional with strong people leadership experience who is interested in working in a fast-paced and growing commercial account development team.    

 
Key Responsibilities:  

  • Build a best-in-class commercial sales and account development team by attracting and developing talented and motivated sales professionals
  • Support execution of the Global Commercial Services sales strategy in alignment with overall market growth objectives
  • Establish effective capabilities for both telephone-based and in-field selling and account development
  • Lead and support the account development team to
    • Develop sound sales strategies by positioning American Express’ best-in-class commercial products and solutions to the managed corporate clients.
    • Retain and expand the existing relationship within defined portfolio of corporate clients in order to achieve annual spend and growth target.
    • Focus on maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent client relationship across levels within the clients' organizations.
  • Conduct in-field coaching and measure individual sales performance
  • Support pipeline development and manage cycle performance through robust reporting governance
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Field Enablement to develop strategies to supplement sales pipeline
  • Collaborate with Risk and Credit teams to minimize losses and drive profitable growth
  • Network within the industry, community, business, and customers to stay current on issues impacting customers

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial sales or account development is required along with proven success leading teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders and customers through excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and retain sales talent
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret commercial financial statements a plus
  • Strong English and Cantonese speaking/writing skills
