Purpose

Manchester United is seeking to hire a Commercial Assistant, who will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations and administration at the Club’s Hong Kong office and assisting the Club’s China business operation. Key duties include running day to day operation, performing translation and basic desk research, as well as liaison with media partners, to support different departments.

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform on-paper English / Chinese translation to support various business functions, i.e. Research, Sales, Relationship Management, Project Operation
• Plan and coordinate travel itineraries and arrangements e.g. flight booking, hotel accommodation, ground transportation, for commercial team
• Coordinate inbound and outbound mail and couriers
• Manage administrative documents
• Liaise with Club’s major media partners in China and manage routine communication & pipelines
• Assist Research team in conducting basic desk research and due diligence
• Assist event management, coordination and hosting
• Ad hoc projects as required
• Coordinate with Hong Kong and UK based support teams to ensure smooth delivery and timely execution of world-class commercial projects

 Qualifications 

• Degree holder or final year student
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, and excellent Chinese writing skills
• Understanding and knowledge in China’s Digital and Media landscape
• Confident ‘can do’ approach to work, and hardworking
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in all areas
• Good time management, able to prioritise work load and work independently
• Excellent people and communication skills, able to build relationships across a broad range of seniorities
• A team player, capable of blending specific personal responsibilities with lending support to the Commercial Team as necessary
• Trustworthy with integrity; capable of being privy to extremely confidential information without disclosure
• Able to handle phone calls effectively and professionally
• Basic knowledge in research and analytics
• Some knowledge of the football industry is preferred
