Job Description

Our client is a renowned bank, to cope with their business expansion, they are currently hiring a Head of Central Control to join their Operations team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the Bank’s customer database to ensure validity, accuracy and timeliness of input and update;
  • Exercise control on support functions including autopay services (In/out clearing), cheque book production, pin generation, audit confirmations, government enquiries, data & document management;
  • Provide operational support to branch network and other internal units on account opening, record management & custody, and control functions;
  • Ensure timely internal reporting / external replies to enquiries from government bodies;
  • Streamline workflow and exercise quality control on key tasks of the department;
  • Coordinate with ITD to enhance systems and workflows to cope with changing requirements of the bank / regulators / market practices;
  • Exercise oversight on daily activities to ensure proper control and timely response;
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies by all staff e.g. PDPO;
  • Compile and update procedure manuals of the department from time to time;
  • Cultivate a teamwork environment within the department and promote staff to work as a cohesive unit with common goals;
  • Review and revise Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to deliver excellent services to internal & external customers; and
  • Promote and practice LIFRR.

  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree holder in banking & finance or equivalent;
  • In depth understanding of commercial bank operations (branches and support units), internal controls and service delivery;
  • Strong knowledge of local inter-bank settlement operations e.g. HKICL;
  • At least 10 years of banking experience of which 5 years in managerial level;
  • Excellent skills in communications, presentation, problem solving, interpersonal and team building;
  • Strong sense of responsibility;
  • Personal integrity;
  • Strong project management skills on systems design, testing and implementation;
  • Strong people management skills;
  • Service excellence; and
  • Agent of change.
