Part-time Instructor (Ref.: 2000070)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointees will be responsible for teaching courses at different levels (Degree, Associate Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma, Diploma Yi Jin, Continuing & Professional Education and Corporate Training programmes) in the following subject areas on a part-time basis (including day-time or evening on weekdays or weekends).

  1. Accounting and Finance
  2. Allied Health (e.g. Dispensing, Traditional Chinese Medicine)
  3. Arboriculture / Tree Management
  4. Business and Management (e.g. Global Business, Marketing)
  5. Chinese
  6. Chinese and Putonghua for Diploma Yi Jin Programmes (DYJ)
  7. Chinese Calligraphy / Chinese Painting
  8. Civil Engineering
  9. Communication Skills for Diploma Yi Jin Programmes (DYJ)
  10. Creative Media (e.g. Film Studies, Media Production)
  11. Criminology and Disciplinary Forces
  12. Early Childhood Education
  13. English
  14. Future Skills (e.g. AI and Data Science, Blockchain, Cloud-based Technology Applications, User Experience Design, Social Media Marketing)
  15. Geographical Information Systems

They may be required to conduct the teaching in Cantonese, Putonghua or English where appropriate.


Requirements
For subject areas (1) to (33), applicants should possess a relevant higher degree and professional qualifications in the related subject area, with at least 5 years' relevant working experience. Applicants with lower qualification but with substantial working experience may also be considered.

For subject area (7) Chinese Calligraphy / Chinese Painting, applicants should also attach portfolio of artwork.

For subject area (9) Communication Skills for Diploma Yi Jin, applicants should also possess a recognized degree or equivalent preferably in the discipline of Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Communication.

For subject area (12) Early Childhood Education, applicants should also have experienced in teaching preschoolers in Physical Fitness / Music and Movements / SEN; setting up Learning Corners 區角環境創設 or Kindergarten Practicum Supervision.

For subject area (34) Meat Inspection, applicants should be a registered veterinary surgeon under the Veterinary Surgeons Registration Ordinance (Chapter 529) who hold at least a Bachelor Degree or higher qualification, and have at least 3 years of experience related to meat inspection. Knowledge and experience in food animal inspection is preferred.

All shortlisted applicants may be invited to have teaching demonstration during the interview.

Compensation Package
Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
