Job Description

Mission

The Plant Manager owns all daily operations of our plastics recycling plant. He/she will be able to participate in the set-up of the production line, and build an operation team from scratch. We count on his/her stewardship to achieve maximum levels of safety, quality, and productivity in our work processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Recruit employees to meet deadlines for plant opening and develop the team in the longer run
  • Develop production line equipment, systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day operations at optimal level
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while meeting standards of quality and productivity
  • Minimize unnecessary costs (e.g. overtime work, waste, etc.) with a data-driven approach
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Monitor operations and trigger timely corrective actions when necessary
  • Build a trusting relationship with and among the production teams and with peer functional leaders
  • Commit to plant safety procedures
  • Address employees’ concerns on work arrangements and career development by working closely with HR Manager
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
  • Proven work experience in a manufacturing/industrial plant management role
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) combined with sophisticated decision-making capability
  • Familiar with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Computer literacy/tech savvy – proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experienced in working with production management/logistics/ERP systems
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, people management and interpersonal skills
  • Master Degree in Mechanical engineering will be a big plus
  • Fluent in spoken English and Cantonese; proficient in written English and Chinese
