Job Description

The Portfolio Manager ensures that BrandLoyalty has the right brands, ranges and products for our current and future loyalty programs in APAC. You will be the go-to person within the organisation for questions related to our brand portfolio and product categories, and quickly develop an excellent knowledge bank of regional market expertise. You are responsible to maintain excellent relationship with relevant brands and regional brand offices, and internal stakeholders such as Sales, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Account Management. By being the go-to person on all product and brand questions you ensure that all divergent demands from different clients and categories are factored into a cohesive strategy that doesn’t cannibalise itself but instead strengthens the company’s strategic goals. The Portfolio Manager needs to ensure local market requirements are represented and managed within a global product portfolio, including product development, phase out decisions, and inventory management. Your success will be in your ability to deal with challenges, such as balancing the portfolio in and portfolio out options, while at the same time balancing the portfolio for both short term and long-term goals.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Products/categories: 

  • Advise regional National Sales Offices(NSOs) on what ranges are suitable for new leads, approve leads, and ensure that NSO price calculation process is accurate and timely
  • Define product ranges suitable for APAC that are also relevant to other geographic areas within a category, manage price calculations, advise and steer product selections, influence new developments, and decide on phase out decisions;
  • Work close with Sourcing Manager to coordinate the buying process for (licensed) products: price, quality-testing-inspections, lead times, production capacity, production process;
  • Data management for products and programs within SAP, including responding to pricing requests, manage range approvals, and end to end program management;
  • Work close with Portfolio department in global HQ for strategic portfolio/category management, matching local market conditions to a global product portfolio.
  • Ensuring product portfolio and categories needs are met for the region in the short to medium and long term 

 Program execution:

  • Setting up the framework for sourcing a loyalty program;
  • Working closely together in project teams with all internal departments involved;
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with brands; 

 Supplier and internal stakeholder management: 

  • Build and maintain relationships with regional offices of brands and internal stakeholders such as regional sales, marketing, operations and global head-office colleagues;
  • Be the 1st point of contact for new sales leads, pro-actively advising and steering program ranges that match diverging regional requirements with BrandLoyalty’s corporate strategy, calculating pricing and advising HQ on range approvals;
  • Internally sell program concepts to all stakeholders, including how to market the program concepts;
  • Ensure that short, medium- and long-term category and product range planning needs are being met and planned;
  • Communicate with brands and stakeholdersfor program execution.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • University Degree;
  • 5+ years’ experience within a Portfolio Management or a buying position in FMCG, retail, or consumer goods company, or a relevant related background
  • Product knowledge on a range of household and kitchenware categories is a prerequisite
  • Familiarity with the overall procurement processes such as sourcing, manufacturing, supply chain and logistics
  • Commercial acumen. Enjoys being involved in commercial challenges and negotiation
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems, or the ability to quickly master SAP, and work within such systems and structures
  • Excellent at building relationships across different levels
  • Excellent planning, organisation skills and is able to prioritise
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written. Good communicator
  • Experience working in a MNC or in an international environment
  • Able and willing to travel on a frequent basis
