Responsibilities:

• Works closely with the fabric mills to ensure timely and accurate bulk submissions to the HKO.
• Oversees the resolution of production and operational problems related to fabric quality in the mills and to ensure critical path fabric delivery dates are met.
• Communicates non conformities to the Senior Fabric Manager for review and feedback.
• Educate mills and printers in the correct Lands’ End procedures, fabric performance standards, RSL requirements, and legislative requirements.
• Supports the efforts of establishing mill/trim suppliers’ evaluation standards, process and CAP follow-up.
• Provides Technical Support and risk assessment to cross functional teams related to fabric quality, and related process.
• Provides problem solving support, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to improve mills performance.
• Supports with fabric quality initiatives and updating/revision of fabric/trim manuals and processes.
• Helps to maintain the Fabric Library, centralized fabric specifications and base fabric test results.
• Participates in mill evaluations, feedback and corrective action plans.
• Escalates all mill audit failures to the Senior Fabric Manager.
• Supports with base fabric approvals, documenting and recording any exceptions accurately with both Head office/HKO and mill/vendor.
• Monitors bulk fabric performance in terms of handle, colour, continuity, performance standards and chemical compliance.
• Controls at source fabric delivered to garment vendors is of a consistent pre-agreed quality standard, in terms of physical and colour fastness performance, appearance, handle, and colour continuity.
• Escalates test report failures and quality non-conformances to the Senior Fabric Manager for review.
• Supports any fabric related projects as required.
• Participates in relevant industry training on fabric quality and management.

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in Fabric/Garment manufacturing and/or similar laboratory industry experience. Mill manufacturing and fabric technology background is preferred.
• Diploma or above in Textile/Fashion, Textile Technology or related discipline
• Comprehensive and hands-on knowledge of Fibers and Yarns, Textile Construction (knit and woven), Fabric and Fiber Properties, Dyeing Processes, Finishing Processes, Printing Processes, Laboratory Testing and Inspection
• Sound level of Technical and Quality Assurance expertise
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent command of verbal and written English (language proficiency in Chinese, especially Mandarin, preferred)
• Possess all Behavioral Qualities of the role as outlined above
• Confident in fulfilling a majority of the Key Performance Indicators for this role
