About Media Operations

Nielsen’s Media Operations team is responsible for the audience measurement – the media consumption among the consumers and the general public across different platforms and devices.  The Panel team recruits and maintains a representative sample, actively engages each panel member to enable robust and accurate data collection.  The Quality team regularly analyses the collected data to understand the overall trend and media consumption behavioral change in order to identify any potential issue from the data collection.  The Quality team is also responsible for planning and executing either preventive or corrective follow up actions and carrying out data final check prior to the delivery to clients.  The process concludes with the Production team which ensures the data is properly processed upon the Nielsen standards agreed with clients and the industry.

About The Role 

The role of the Data Quality Specialist is responsible for securing high quality of data is delivered to our clients. To ensure data output is free of error, efforts are not only made at the data production but started in the system configuration, data collection, and processing. Despite all executions are automated, consistent effort is required to maintain all these are run properly and immediate action can be made whenever the quality issue is arise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily quality check on the data processed to meet the production level & data quality requirements
  • Conduct data collection testing and check
  • Identify any data quality issues from data collection and follow up
  • Identify any abnormalities on data quality and follow up
  • Review processes and quality level so as to design, plan and execute preventive and corrective actions if needed
  • Be responsible for the accuracy and consistency of the information collected from panel members, stored in the system and reported in the deliverables to client
  • Engage with internal client and Nielsen Support Teams overseas to drive continuous quality improvement

 A Little Bit About You

  • You are highly motivated with good communication skills, detail-oriented, positive willingness to learn, and have a strong sense of responsibility.  
  • Proactive, energetic team player and willing to deal with a large group of people 

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above
  • 1-2 years of working experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Good computer knowledge, especially on MS Excel and other database management tool
  • Basic level of programming skill (e.g Python, R) 
  • Good communication skill, proficient in both verbal and written English and Cantonese
  • 5 Days work, Shift Duty is Required (Mon to Sat)

Working hours:

The data collection and production are conducted every single calendar day.  To support it, while having a 5 days’ work a week, shift duty is required from Monday to Saturday with the one-day off negotiable. No regular shift work on Sunday.

This role is a fit for candidates who are people-oriented, having a strong numeric sense, curious and flexible with shift work as described above.
