Job Summary

•          SCRIPTS Asia is looking for people with experience transcribing English business events who are available to work during Asian business hours.
•          The job is a contract position, with seasonal fluctuations in work availability. You will be paid for each transcript you complete, on a per-minute basis. Peak demand occurs in late January/February, late April/May, August and late October/November.
•          SCRIPTS Asia provides an online portal, with tools to facilitate scheduling and workflow.

Responsibilities

•          Transcribe English language audio within Microsoft Word. This may include transcription of audio containing heavily-accented English, and will also include web research to confirm names, products, and places. Use of a foot pedal for controlling audio playback is not required, but highly recommended.
•          The final product is very time sensitive, so transcribers will need to work efficiently and be able to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Skills and Qualifications

•          4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
•          Experience transcribing English audio, preferably in a business/finance context.
•          Demonstrated experience transcribing English audio containing heavily accented English, or from Asian regions would be a plus.
•          Applicants will need to pass SCRIPTS Asia’s transcription qualification test.
•          Excellent written English skills; English certifications (like TOEFL) would be a plus
•          Excellent general communication skills
•          Microsoft Word software and the ability to proficiently use it.
•          Proficiency with electronic mail and online applications.
•          Ability to work independently.

Minimum of JPY4,400～JPY6,500 per transcription (in Japan)
Minimum of HKD320～HKD440 per transcription (in Hong Kong)
