An excellent career opportunity with the Investor Compensation Company Limited.
The Investor Compensation Company Limited (ICC) is the organization recognized by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Ordinance) to administer and manage the Investor Compensation Fund (Fund) established under the Ordinance.  It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the SFC.  The objectives of the Fund are to provide a secure and cost-effective measure of compensation to retail investors in relation to exchanged-traded products in Hong Kong or securities traded on Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange under the Stock Connect arrangements.
ICC began its operations in April 2003. Its mission is to effectively and efficiently administer investors' claims against the Fund. The functions of ICC include receiving, assessing and determining claims against the Fund, making payments to claimants and pursuing recoveries from defaults of licensed intermediaries or authorized financial institutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist the General Manager in managing the affairs of the organisation. Major tasks include: investigating and processing claims; preparing case reports for submission to the Claims Committee for determination; handling investor inquiries, public relations and investor education; and assisting with general administration matters, including taking minutes for board and committee meetings.
  2. The successful candidate will also need to liaise with professionals from time to time appointed by ICC and any external parties consigned to assist with the processing of claims for ICC.

Requirements

  1. Degree holder in law or accounting with relevant professional qualification.
  2. At least 5 years’ relevant post qualification working experience in the legal or financial service sector.
  3. Good knowledge of the securities and futures industry, or relevant experience in government related or other non-profit organisations.
  4. Good leadership, analytical, interpersonal, presentation, communication and report writing skills.
  5. Able to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity.
  6. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.  Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage.

The incumbent must be a team player, self-motivated, well versed in all areas of a small operation, and enjoy multi-tasking within a statutory organisation.
