The Initiative has an immediate opening for an experienced UI/UX Lead to concept, innovate and drive highly polished, intuitive user interface and experience. Partnering with a team of Designers and Engineers, you will research and iterate on interface experiences, both aesthetically and functionally, to create an intuitive, refined user experiences. You will have knowledge and expertise in cutting-edge UI techniques and will be fluent in the interaction between aesthetics and functionality to create a seamless experience.

You have a proven track record of delivering high quality experiences through effective collaboration with your team. You are versatile, have strong development and production-sense, and the expertise to inspire and mentor others to do their best work.

As an experienced UI/UX Lead, you will work directly with in-house product development teams, plus other key stakeholders across disciplines, to deliver the following:

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with Design, Engineering and Product Development teams to build internal processes, guide content creation workflows, and define and execute implement best practices
• Work closely with Marketing, Business and Support teams to provide external visual materials, campaign and art work.
• Drive the concept and development of innovative design vision, functional and/or aesthetic UI/UX experience, including designing compelling, intuitive user experiences
• Create wireframes, prototypes, UI/UX designs and product marketing materials
• Support pipeline development, UI screen implementation and iteration of UI toolset
• Research and design using state-of-the-art design principles, examples, and tools, as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of UI and UX design experience, including working in art creation pipelines, workflows, and tools
• Expertise creating design documents including user stories, conceptual models, annotated wireframes, storyboards, creative briefs
• Expertise in design tool Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)/Sketch.
• Expertise in collaboration and mockup tool InVision / Zeplin
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamentals in visual and graphic disciplines: typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as strong presentation and organizational skills
• A portfolio demonstrating experience designing complex desktop and mobile web-based applications – including wireframes, site maps, and process flows

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Design, Architecture or similar required; advanced degree preferred
• Strong ability to communicate abstract concepts to audiences that are not skilled in a UX discipline
• Experience designing or producing B2B communication product
• Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred.
