Job Summary

To cope with business needs, we are looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Assistant Engineer, He/She will be responsible for supporting Global Engineering team in product design, tooling design, and troubleshooting. He/She will be developing kitchenware products based on design and/or customer’s requirements and knowledge of manufacturing processes. He /she will be working in collaboration across departments. The ideal Project Engineer will be innovative, eager to strive for excellence, make continual improvement, cost sensitive and have a strong interest in product development.

  

In this role, you will:

New Product Development Related: 

  • Responsible for resolving production issues by request for defective issues;
  • Provide supporting document including scientific reports, market researches, and function evaluation reports for New Product Development (NPD);
  • Create tooling and product drawing, handle structural designs and tooling process flow by using AutoCAD and Solidworks;
  • Create defect diagnosis report including quality issue;
  • Develop manufacturing process flow and define critical processes;
  • Work in close relationship with Design team, QA team, Purchasing team, and vendors;
  • Sample handling and inspection;
  • Participate feasibility review with other teams to evaluate product designs on manufacturability and cost awareness;
  • Assist in project follow-up;
  • Work with vendor to develop prototypes for design concept verification.

Factory Related: 

  • Assist to conduct pilot run production of new fitting at vendor factory;
  • Assist to coordinate with production team on production issue;
  • Assist to evaluate vendor tooling and production capability for new and existing designs;
  • Assist to work with vendor to develop efficient production methods and processes;
  • Assist to evaluate vendors production process flow;
  • Assist to create pilot run reports to assess mass production ability;
  • Assist to coordinate with purchasing team and vendor for structural design implementation.

  

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline;
  • Preferably 1 - 2 years product development experience related to plastics and metal items;
  • Proficient in CAD preferred in AutoCAD and Solidworks;
  • Good communication skills with fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese; Written English and Chinese is a must;
  • Some travel is required;
  • Responsible, proactive, independent, self-motivated, team player, able to work under pressure and grow with the organization.
