Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee shall mainly be responsible for the following:

  • Planning, development and delivery of the undergraduate/postgraduate programmes; and
  • Lecturing and tutoring, writing lecture notes, grading of assignments/examination scripts as well as conducting other teaching activities for the following course(s).

 

Requirements

Master of Arts in Legal Translation

  • TRAN A808BF  Advanced Legal Translation in Hong Kong
  • TRAN A819BF  Principles of Property Law in Bilingual Context

 

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree in law/legal translation or a relevant discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

The appointees will be required to conduct classes on weekday evenings or Saturday/Sunday from May to August 2020, and will work not more than 4.5 hours per week for each course. 

 

Master of Arts in Applied Translation

  • TRAN A836BF  Translation of Media, Business and Social Sciences Texts

 

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree in translation or a relevant discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

The appointees will be required to conduct classes on weekday evenings or Saturday/Sunday from May to August 2020, and will work not more than 6 hours per week for each course. 

 

Master of Social Sciences in Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • PSYC A825F Behavioral Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorder

 

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Psychology or a related discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience in Autism Spectrum Disorder; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

  • PSYC A826F Principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Psychology or a related discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience in Autism Spectrum Disorder; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

Master of Social Sciences in Crime Control and Social Policy Studies

  • SOCI A804F Research Methods and Application

 

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Sociology or a related discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

  • SOCI A807F Criminal Justice and Crime Control: a Comparative Study

 

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Criminology, Sociology or a related discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

 

Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Applied Social Studies (Top-up Programme)

  • POLS A321F Government and Politics of Greater China

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Politics and International Relations or a related discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.
  • SOCI A323F Social Policy and Social Administration

Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Sociology, Social Policy Studies or a related discipline;
  • Have teaching/professional experience; and
  • Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage. 

The appointees will be required to work on weekday evenings or Saturday/Sunday on campus for the period from late May 2020 to August 2020 for a maximum of 17 hours per week.

 

Compensation Package

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporarypart-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
