Duties:

The appointee will work on the development of biodegradable plastics, biodegradable materials and/or plastic recycling. S/he will be responsible for designing the formulation, operating material processing machines (such as compounder, extruder, etc.) and characterizing the material properties using analytical instrument (such as DSC, FTIR, TGA, TEM, SEM, etc.). Other than that, s/he will also be responsible for preparing project progress reports, SOPs, and other documents related to collaboration with industry partners.

Requirements:

• The appointee will be responsible for R&D work, including experimental design, conducting experiment, sample preparation and characterization as well as data analysis etc.
• Master or above in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering or related disciplines;
• Familiar with materials processing and characterization;
• Experience in formulation development, validation, or production in industrial scale will be an advantage;
• Willing to travel to PRC to monitor the prototype production process;
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience;
• Ability to initiate and work independently;
• Positive, analytical, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skill;
• Have a sense of ownership for his/her work, good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese), proficient in Putonghua is an advantage;
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineers.
